Sierra-Olympic Introduces Continuous Zoom, Uncooled LWIR Thermal Chassis Camera

The Vinden CZ series is designed as an open-frame chassis camera for integrators and OEMs in industrial, security/surveillance, and military markets.

July 17, 2014 - Hood River, OR - Sierra-Olympic Technologies, Inc., supplier of infrared (IR) and thermal imaging components, cameras, and systems solutions for advanced thermal imaging applications, introduces the Vinden CZ 320 continuous zoom thermal chassis camera. The first of two camera models in the series, the Vinden CZ 320 is offered in both 60 Hz and 9 Hz frame rates for the widest possible range of domestic and international customers. The Vinden CZ series is designed as an open-frame chassis camera for integrators and OEMs in industrial, security/surveillance, and military markets.


The system provides 3X optical zoom and 2X digital zoom, for a zoom range of 8.9 degrees to 1.5 degrees. The system is managed by an innovative custom processor which provides critical image processing functions, with extensions for edge analytics.

The Vinden CZ generates H.264/MJPEG IP-video streams for Ethernet connectivity, as well as simultaneous NTSC/PAL analog video, and 14-bit Camera Link® digital video. Command and control is via Ethernet or TTL serial. The vision processor provides multiple-image processing and noise-reduction functions. The rugged, compact chassis weighs less than 860 gm and is designed for commercial use.
