NEW YORK, Feb. 19, 2015 -- MecklerMedia Corporation (OTCQX: MECK) announced several new additions to 3D Print Week New York, including two days of free 3D printing sessions hosted by MakerBot, sponsorship from the New York City Economic Development Corporation, and the 3D Print Fashion Show, sponsored by Materialise.
3D Print Week New York consists of a series of events and activities which aim to spread awareness of the creative and professional opportunities available within the 3D printing industry in New York City and worldwide. 3D Print Week New York includes Inside 3D Printing, the 3D Print Design Show, and other events.
The MakerBot Sessions will focus on providing free hands-on 3D printing experience for educators, designers, professionals, and consumers, and will offer workshops; an Interactive 3D Design Bar; sessions with the MakerBot Learning Team; and a 3D printing expert speaker series. The MakerBot Sessions will be held April 16 and 17 at the Javits Convention Center as part of the 3D Print Design Show.
Also taking place during the 3D Print Design Show is the 3D Print Fashion Show on April 16, sponsored by Materialise. The runway event, directed and curated by Natacha Alpert, will feature original 3D-printed items by notable designers including Bradley Rothenberg, Paul Redmond, Heidi Lee, and Aaron Trocola.
The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is sponsoring 3D Print Week New York to promote the growth of the 3D printing and manufacturing industries in New York City, the source of thousands of quality jobs across all five boroughs.
