Kespry Announces Woolpert as Latest Commercial Drone System Customer

The fully automated Kespry Drone System comes complete with drone, K Box, battery, charger, iPad, and Kespry iPad app which maps the area and flies the drone.

MENLO PARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kespry Inc., which designs automated drone systems for commercial use, today announced that it has been selected by Woolpert to provide commercial drone systems to support the companys site surveying and mapping needs.

Kespry serves the construction, construction aggregates, mining, surveying, and mapping industries. Kespry Drone Systems provide an excellent way for these companies to safely collect aerial images, maps, 2D and 3D models, and other valuable data. Kespry helps customers better track site progress, measure stockpiles, manage resources, reduce downtime, and track project status.

"Commercial customers have enthusiastically embraced the Kespry Drone System because they realize how much time and money they can save while getting dramatically more accurate site assessments -- safely and reliably," said Paul Doersch, CEO and Founder, Kespry.

"The Kespry Cloud, fueled by efficient, repeatable Kespry UAV flights, allows us to quickly collect site information, process it, and deliver results to our customers," said Mark Power, Survey Team Leader at Woolpert.

How Kespry Drone Systems Work

Surveying and mapping customers launch the Kespry Drone on their job site as frequently as needed. The Kespry Drone maps 60-90 acres in one flight and automatically creates multiple flights to map sites up to 600 acres. It features automatic take-off, auto flight path, and auto landing — no joystick required — with full safety controls. Aerial site photos are captured on the drone and automatically uploaded to the iPad tablet application and secure cloud storage for access by project teams.

3D Vision: Ensenso B now also available as a mono version!

This compact 3D camera series combines a very short working distance, a large field of view and a high depth of field - perfect for bin picking applications. With its ability to capture multiple objects over a large area, it can help robots empty containers more efficiently. Now available from IDS Imaging Development Systems. In the color version of the Ensenso B, the stereo system is equipped with two RGB image sensors. This saves additional sensors and reduces installation space and hardware costs. Now, you can also choose your model to be equipped with two 5 MP mono sensors, achieving impressively high spatial precision. With enhanced sharpness and accuracy, you can tackle applications where absolute precision is essential. The great strength of the Ensenso B lies in the very precise detection of objects at close range. It offers a wide field of view and an impressively high depth of field. This means that the area in which an object is in focus is unusually large. At a distance of 30 centimetres between the camera and the object, the Z-accuracy is approx. 0.1 millimetres. The maximum working distance is 2 meters. This 3D camera series complies with protection class IP65/67 and is ideal for use in industrial environments.
