YOU DON'T NEED TO BE AN AMAZON TO USE DRONES FOR E-COMMERCE LOGISTICS

Unmanned Life autonomous drones, in conjunction with technology from their partners, rapidly and correctly perform the sorting at a higher throughput and lower cost per sorted unit than the current industry standard.

HONG KONG, China (May 28, 2016) - Unmanned Life announced, at the Global Post-Expo 2016 in Hong Kong, the worlds first postal sorting center using Unmanned Lifes multi-patent pending innovative solution of a fully autonomous drone fleet managed through a SaaS platform over the cloud. The first deployment will start shortly in 2016 at one of the worlds top 5 postal operators, located in Europe.

Unmanned Life autonomous drones, in conjunction with technology from their partners, rapidly and correctly perform the sorting at a higher throughput and lower cost per sorted unit than the current industry standard.

The advantage of autonomous drones that are fully controlled by software alone is that there is no need to recruit, train and manage pilots. Software-controlled drones are safer, more reliable and offer an on-demand scalable solution at a much lower cost.

Autonomous drone-based sorting is the next generation of industrial automation known as ‘Industry 4.0. This solution has also the advantage of a flexible sorting configuration, enabling sorting on demand without incurring the cost associated with traditional conveyer belt-type sorting technology.
Unmanned Lifes autonomous drone-based sorting solution built with its technology partners, will unlock the growth potential of e-commerce by removing the existing bottlenecks in the final sorting prior to last-mile delivery and creating a level-playing-field for e-commerce companies. From now on, you don't need to be an Amazon to unlock the value of autonomous drone-based sorting for last-mile delivery.

ABOUT UNMANNED LIFE

Unmanned Life is the worlds first fully cloud based software-driven platform (ADBS) enabling an autonomous fleet of integrated drones and ground vehicles, aimed at disrupting logistics and other human-labour heavy industries. We enable the 4th Industrial Revolution by replacing heavily human- centric operations at the heart of large industrial sectors with our fully software-driven autonomous fleet of drones and ground vehicles (logistics, postal, surveillance, construction, shipping, oil and gas, aid and entertainment). Our ADBS platform enables to run these operations much more efficiently and at a significant lowered cost.

3D Vision: Ensenso B now also available as a mono version!

This compact 3D camera series combines a very short working distance, a large field of view and a high depth of field - perfect for bin picking applications. With its ability to capture multiple objects over a large area, it can help robots empty containers more efficiently. Now available from IDS Imaging Development Systems. In the color version of the Ensenso B, the stereo system is equipped with two RGB image sensors. This saves additional sensors and reduces installation space and hardware costs. Now, you can also choose your model to be equipped with two 5 MP mono sensors, achieving impressively high spatial precision. With enhanced sharpness and accuracy, you can tackle applications where absolute precision is essential. The great strength of the Ensenso B lies in the very precise detection of objects at close range. It offers a wide field of view and an impressively high depth of field. This means that the area in which an object is in focus is unusually large. At a distance of 30 centimetres between the camera and the object, the Z-accuracy is approx. 0.1 millimetres. The maximum working distance is 2 meters. This 3D camera series complies with protection class IP65/67 and is ideal for use in industrial environments.
