Need an assistant? KUKA offers robotic arms for integration into your medical device, on display at RSNA
At the 2017 RSNA show, KUKA is demonstrating sample applications in which the lightweight robot LBR Med can be integrated into your new systems to assist clinicians
CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The worlds first robotic component certified for integration into a medical product is from KUKA Robotics and will be demonstrated at the 2017 RSNA show.
This global event for medical technology is the ideal platform for KUKA to showcase a new collaborative robotic technology developed specifically to support the field of healthcare. The KUKA robot can be seen firsthand in various sample applications by visitors to North Hall Booth 6139 from the 26th to 30th of November 2017.
This LBR Med lightweight robot has a versatile range of capabilities including: ultrasound scanning, needle biopsy, suturing, etc. Visitors will have the opportunity to interact with the robot and see demonstrations including guiding the robot in an ultrasound application. Using the robots unique torque control features, they will be able to feel the force feedback on the phantom. As a robot manufacturer, KUKA provides the robotic technology to realize the potential of your robotic medical system.
Michael Otto, Vice President of the Healthcare & Advanced Robotics Division at KUKA Roboter GmbH: "The robotic assistance systems developed in cooperation with our medical product manufacturers make us the leading supplier of technology for customers in the medical technology sector. With our application developments, we aim to make a major contribution to patient safety and also meet the high requirements of medical technology."
