Logic Supply Collaborates With Amazon Web Services To Offer AWS Greengrass With ML Inference
Logic Supply hardware demonstrating AWS Greengrass with Machine Learning Inference made its debut at IoT World 2018.
Global Industrial PC company Logic Supply, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), will begin offering their customers the option to pre-install AWS Greengrass with machine learning (ML) Inference on its ‘AWS Greengrass Compatible hardware platforms with an eye toward making Internet of Things (IoT) development easier, faster, and more efficient.
AWS GREENGRASS: BRINGING THE CLOUD TO THE EDGE
In a range of applications, IoT devices need to respond quickly to local events, operate with intermittent connections, and minimize the cost of transmitting IoT data to the cloud.
AWS Greengrass, part of the AWS IoT offering, allows users to run local compute, messaging & data caching for connected IoT devices. With AWS Greengrass, connected devices can run AWS Lambda functions, keep device data in sync, and communicate with other devices securely - even when not connected to the Internet.
AWS Greengrass ML Inference allows devices to perform ML tasks locally, allowing builders to use ML models built and trained in the cloud, at the edge.
"The AWS Partner Network (APN) plays a key role in achieving our mission to empower builders," said Dirk Didascalou, Vice President, Internet of Things, Amazon Web Services, Inc. "We're excited that Logic Supply will be among the first of our APN Partners to offer hardware that comes pre-installed with AWS Greengrass with Machine Learning Inference, as Edge Computing continues to show incredible application potential across the IoT landscape."
PRE-INSTALLED GREENGRASS COMPATIBLE HARDWARE FROM LOGIC SUPPLY
Logic Supply is a global industrial PC company focused on creating highly customizable, small form factor solutions for the IoT edge. They offer more than 80 hardware platforms ranging from low powered edge nodes, to ML and artificial intelligence (AI) capable systems, all available directly to customers on the Logic Supply website (www.logicsupply.com).
"We're excited to be working with AWS to provide developers the tools they need to create next generation IoT solutions," said Murat Erdogan, VP Products, Logic Supply. "As an Advanced Partner in the AWS Partner Network, we wanted to take the step to make AWS-powered IoT solutions as accessible and plug-and-play as possible."
Through the APN program, AWS has tested Logic Supplys systems and designated them as ‘AWS Greengrass Compatible.' Logic Supply will offer its customers the ability to select AWS Greengrass with ML Inference as a pre-installed software image on all of their tested, production grade computer systems. When configuring their systems online, users can select AWS Greengrass from the software options, with prototypes and dev kits shipping in as little as a day.
Available hardware options include the company's recently released, palm-sized CL200 Edge Device as well as their MC850 computer, which can accommodate dedicated graphics cards and other accelerators for edge-based machine learning and AI.
