The new Pilz PROBms - Robot Measurement System - for human robot collaboration
New force and pressure measurement system, PROBms, guarantees the standard-compliant safety of human robot collaboration (HRC)
With the new rental-based force and pressure measurement system, PROBms, Pilz now offers a complete package for validation of human-robot collaborations (HRC) in accordance with ISO/TS 15066. So the limit values for force or pressure of the robot movement, as specified by the ISO/TS, can now be measured precisely and, therefore, validated using PROBms. User software and product training complete the overall package. The worldwide rental concept guarantees that users always have an up-to-date measurement system at their disposal. PROBms ensures greater productivity and safety on HRC applications.
PROBms is suitable for all HRC applications in which humans and robots share a workspace, in accordance with ISO/TS 15066. These include, for example, pick & place applications in the automotive and electronics industry.
Rent rather than buy for even greater safety
The force and pressure measurement system PROBms is available from Pilz worldwide on a rental basis. The rental concept includes maintenance, calibration and regular updates, so that users always have access to a fully functional, state-of-the-art measurement system. The new measurements that are needed when an HRC process is changed can be carried out independently at any time. That increases the availability of robot applications, as well as the productivity of such applications.
Comprehensive, carefree package for safe HRC
In addition to the actual measurement device PROBmdf, the force and pressure measurement system, PROBms, also contains the necessary pressure indicating films, the scanner, nine springs with different force constants to recreate the various body regions and software to operate the measurement device and record the measurements. The set also includes a 1-day product training course and a comprehensive after rental sales package including maintenance, calibration and regular software updates.
Standard-compliant "collisions" with PROBms
For HRC, the technical specification, ISO/TS 15066, specifies a force and pressure measurement for the robot movement. The TS provides limiting values for each part of the body in the event of a collision between human and machine. If the application remains within these limits during contact between human and robot, it conforms to the standard. The new force and pressure measurement system means that for the first time these values can be recorded precisely, suitable for industrial use, and can be taken into consideration when setting up HRC applications. This significantly increases safety for those operating such applications.
