UltraFlex induction melting aluminum and iron alloys
At an output power of 2.8 kW, it took EasyMelt only 5 to 8 minutes to melt the alloys. The customer got a full report on the heating parameters and excellent results achieved throughout their induction melting process.
The successful induction melting of ferromagnetic and aluminum alloys has recently been demonstrated by UltraFlex Power Technologies. The company - a leading manufacturer of induction heaters - performed the demo following a request from a customer looking to evaluate the results from the induction melting of alloys used in their manufacturing process.
For this test scenario, UltraFlex used their proprietary, compact desktop induction melting systems from the EasyMelt series. EasyMelt brings melting capabilities to small workshops and labs, where full size induction furnaces may not be practical. They are perfect for demo applications and are offered with graphite crucible for low melting temperature materials or ceramic crucible for metals and alloys requiring a higher melting point.
The materials melted for the customer were ferromagnetic alloys and aluminum alloys. Ferromagnetic alloys are highly used in manufacturing since they change the structure and composition of the steel alloys and improve their properties.
At an output power of 2.8 kW, it took EasyMelt only 5 to 8 minutes to melt the alloys. The customer got a full report on the heating parameters and excellent results achieved throughout their induction melting process. They could then take the decision to use induction melting for their manufacturing needs and use UltraFlex Industrial induction melting equipment - UltraFlex Induction melting furnaces. UltraFlex furnaces are designed for each customer's specific melting application, providing close temperature control and maximum efficiency. Sample applications for those furnaces include melting iron and steel, precious metals, ferrous and nonferrous metals, refining of high purity metal and alloys, smelting, vacuum and controlled atmosphere melting and more.
This induction melting test application was highly successful, providing all needed information to the customer but also proving the energy-, time- and cost-efficiency of using induction for melting purposes. In addition to being resource-efficient, this had also been a completely green process - due to the lack of open flame, there was no smoke or noxious emissions.
