Kassow Robots’ KR810 7-Axis Cobot is a Perfect Fit for Machine-Tending Applications

Strong — fast — simple: The lightweight robot KR810 has a payload of up to 10 kg, a reach of 850 mm, speed of 225 degree/second, and 7 degrees of freedom.

Copenhagen / DENMARK, 5 January 2022 ● Kassow Robots, developer of 7-axis robot and cobot solutions for machine tending, material handling, and related applications, is pleased to introduce the KR810, during the upcoming A3 Business Forum event to be held in Orlando, January 31-February 2, 2022. The KR810, a strong and fast industrial cobot, requires fewer safety restrictions and while offering increased maneuverability, making it ideal for working alongside humans in an industrial environment in machine tending, assembly, limited-space retrofits, and related applications.

Kassow Robots is releasing the 7-axis KR810 with a payload of 10 kg and a reach of 850 mm, allowing high production speeds and the ultimate flexibility in tool movement.
"Compact, very strong but lightweight is what Kristian Kassow had in mind when he designed his cobots for flexible jobs at industrial companies," says Dieter Pletscher, the Head of Sales at Kassow Robots. "As one of the original co-founders of Universal Robots, Kristian was able use his extensive experience to develop a more advanced 7-axis cobot specifically designed to solve payload, cycle times, reach, and flexibility for multimachine tending applications and related retrofits."
As with all Kassow Robots products, the KR810 is well suited for many industrial applications involving human-robot collaboration thanks to the unique seventh axis or "wrist" joint and safety-compliant designs inherent to the cobot class of automated material handling solutions. With its 7th-axis wrist, the KR810 emphasizes maneuverability. Work cell designers can place the cobot to the side of an opening, making it easier for employees to access computer numerical control (CNC) systems, lathes, injection molds, and related machinery. Finally, the KR810 is easily programmed by any technical expertise level, from engineer to machine operator. Programming the robot is a simple task of moving it into position and recording the key points. The Kassow software does the rest.
Small- and medium-sized enterprises will profit tremendously by introducing lightweight robot solutions into their operations or by expanding existing solutions. "By avoiding the costs of safety systems necessary to protect traditional robots from human operators, the KR810 is delivering the productivity gains usually only realized by large enterprises."

Schmalz Technology Development - The Right Gripper for Every Task

In order to interact with their environment and perform the tasks, lightweight robots, like all industrial robots, depend on tools - and in many cases these are vacuum grippers. These form the interface to the workpiece and are therefore a decisive part of the overall system. With their help, the robots can pick up, move, position, process, sort, stack and deposit a wide variety of goods and components. Vacuum gripping systems allow particularly gentle handling of workpieces, a compact and space-saving system design and gripping from above. Precisely because the object does not have to be gripped, the vacuum suction cupenables gapless positioning next to each other.
