Munich, March 19, 2024 - MVTec Software GmbH (www.mvtec.com), a leading international manufacturer of machine vision software, will be exhibiting again this year at Automate in Chicago from May 6 to 9, 2024. The software company from Munich has had a subsidiary in the USA since 2007. At booth #4469, MVTec will be presenting its product portfolio and the latest technologies, and is looking forward to exchanging ideas with partners, customers and interested parties. "Automate is a very important trade fair for us, because this is where we meet visitors from all areas of automation. We see machine vision as the eye of production and therefore a key component of automation. At the trade fair, we want to show the fundamental advantages of machine vision and how our software products enable profiting from them," explains Dr. Olaf Munkelt, Managing Director of MVTec. Focus on battery production and semiconductor manufacturing
Machine vision can be used in almost every industry. With very high speed and accuracy and 24/7 availability, the technology offers advantages that are particularly needed in battery production and semiconductor manufacturing. Large manufacturing plants are currently being built up in these sectors in the USA. This is why machine vision is so important, as it plays a key role in production. At the trade fair booth, MVTec will be demonstrating how machine vision, as the "eye of production", optimizes and automates processes. MVTec offers a wide range of functionality based on deep learning and classic machine vision, which customers can use to implement their applications flexibly and efficiently. The company will be demonstrating how this is possible in concrete terms with three demos at its booth. Finally, the two new software versions HALCON 23.11 and MERLIC 5.5 will also be presented at Automate.

New TCP socket plug-in
MERLIC 5.5 extends its connectivity capabilities with the introduction of a new TCP socket plug-in. This plug-in features the ability to use a highly customizable, text-based protocol. Users can now configure specific, simple ASCII messages that contain only the information relevant to their application. These messages can be easily processed by devices that do not support complex protocols such as OPC UA. The plug-in can be easily configured within MERLIC's RTE (Runtime Environment) Setup, providing a straightforward solution for integrating MERLIC into existing systems.
