Leuven, Belgium— Pickit 3D, a leading provider of 3D robot vision solutions, announces the launch of version 3.4 of its 3D robot vision solution. This latest release, available from May 2nd, extends the possibilities of the Pickit 3D vision platform with a new and extended second-generation range of cameras, new features in terms of security and application monitoring and several improvements to the software platform. This upgrade marks a significant step toward compatibility with multiple camera brands and enables more 3D robot vision applications.

Growing adoption of 3D robot vision
The use of 3D robot vision continues to rise as it enables robots to 'see' objects and perform tasks with high flexibility, efficiency and safety while optimizing costs. The technology is seeing rapid adoption across numerous industries, from manufacturing to logistics. Pickit3D has successfully positioned itself in the market as a versatile 3D robot vision platform to support various automation scenarios including bin picking, depalletization, assembly and surface treatment. In 2023, it achieved its strongest financial year ever and reached the landmark of 1000 installed systems in over 40 countries. Delivering on its strategy, Pickit 3D now releases version 3.4 of its 3D vision platform to address modern market needs and support manufacturing companies, with a focus on the automotive industry, to address production challenges.

Improved, versatile and robust camera lineup
Pickit 3D's certified camera range has been entirely revamped and now features second-generation models covering a wider range of applications, including for transparent and reflective objects, as well as large bin and pallet sizes. The renewed camera range offers improved performance and robustness, is fully Ethernet-based and features IP 65 rating. As before, Pickit 3D still offers cameras with standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD), depending on the needs of the application, but the new camera line-up now covers extended fields of view spanning from small boxes all the way up to two Euro Pallets (EPAL).

New and improved 3D Vision Platform features
Moreover, Pickit 3D's user-friendly software platform interface comes with new and improved features, including role-based password-protected access, enhanced application monitoring possibilities, more fine-grained expected object location, an improved desired pick orientation feature and upgraded robot integrations.
The launch of version 3.4 not only marks a significant milestone for Pickit 3D and its customers, but it also represents the company's continued commitment to making manufacturing, automation, and robotics more efficient and flexible.
