Q&A with Albert Nubiola, CEO | RoboDK

What are some of the key milestone achievements over the past decade?

(one of many) Continued support for adding new robots, being the leader in terms of supported robots. We are continually making efforts to integrate the quickly growing new robot arms and robot manufacturers.

We also keep adding many features at an unbeatable price. Offering a very competitive offer.

What is RoboDK’s vision for the next 10 years?

To keep adding new software products and integrations to make automation even easier and enable advanced manufacturing applications.

In what ways do you believe your software has impacted the robotics industry?

We have enabled applications that were not possible before. With RoboDK it is possible to easily perform feasibility studies, even the free/trial version allows you to get an understanding of what you can do and can’t do with your robot, or choose the right robot for your application. Then, the p

How has the robotics industry changed since RoboDK was founded?

There is a growing trend toward automation. At RoboDK we are proud to be part of this journey. Being RoboDK a cost-effective solution we enable automation solutions that were not possible before, or we are making the ROI (return of investment) more appealing.

Why is there now more need than ever for a brand-independent offline programming tool?

Because there is a growing number of robot manufacturers. 80+ that RoboDK supports! And even more controllers as some robot manufacturers have multiple controllers.

What new strategies and initiatives is RoboDK currently pursuing?

To continue to improve RoboDK software for simulation and robot programming. Add support for new robots to democratize robot manufacturing.

And more importantly, creating new products that complement RoboDK software features as we have been doing from day 1. We have been working on a new product related to CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing), which will help create robot simulations and programs from 3D CAD models. More info will be shared in the next few weeks!

What advice would you offer to people just starting out with robotics?

Just try to build your application in RoboDK! Drop the 3D models in your project, choose your robot and follow one of many tutorials available on our website.

What are the biggest opportunities in robotics that you want companies to be aware of?

Automating manufacturing applications is far easier and cheaper if you combine the right tools and involve the right people for your application.
